Paul Steelman

Paul Steelman, a native of Atlantic City, New Jersey, is recognized as a visionary designer of global entertainment, hospitality and gaming architecture. With a career spanning over four decades, he has designed buildings for the mavericks of the gaming industries including Kirk Kerkorian, Steve Wynn, Sheldon Adelson, Francis Lui, Lawrence Ho, Tan Sri Dato’ Lim Kok Thay, Tan Sri Dr Chen Lip Keong, Prince Albert of Monaco, Bob Stupak, Frank Modica, Phil Satre, Derek Stevens and Stanley Ho.

Paul began working as an architect in his father’s architectural practice before graduating from Clemson University in 1977 with the pursuit of an architectural life. His initial work involved designing several pieces of the first Atlantic City Casino and Resorts International. Working for the city of Atlantic City in the Planning and Development Department he met many renowned casino architects and eventually took a job with Joel Bergman and Steve Wynn.

For nine years, Paul worked for Joel Bergman designing many of the Mirage Resorts projects. In 1987, he opened his own practice specializing in entertainment design.

Paul’s distinguished career has garnered several awards including: 2015 The Sidney Artist Hall of Fame at UNLV for Outstanding Achievement in Architecture, 2010 SARNO Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2006 HOSPY Lifetime Achievement Award. He can be seen featured in many publications and visual media, including Forbes Magazine Designing for Dough and the Oceans 13 DVD featurette, The Opulent Illusion.

Currently, he serves on the board of directors for The Lou Ruvo Brain Institute in Las Vegas, The Federal Law Enforcement Foundation in New York and The Clemson School of Architecture at Clemson University in South Carolina.

Throughout his career, Paul has completed and constructed every type of casino project imaginable while working with many well-known clients including: Genting, Galaxy Entertainment, Las Vegas Sands Corporation, MGM Resorts International, Sheraton, Hyatt, Swiss Casinos, Hard Rock, Caesar’s Entertainment, Silverton Casino, Stations Casinos and many others.
